ONCE AGAIN pale skin was admired by many and considered beautiful , as well as rosy cheeks.

The use of a subtle pale foundations symbolised a woman’s good reputation and the use of heavy makeup was most commonly associated with prostitutes.

Rosy cheeks were valued as a sign of good health amongst women .
